As technology becomes more and more integrated into our daily lives, it is important for us to understand that everything we do online can be tracked in one way or another. This is not meant to cause paranoia, but rather to be looked at through an educated eye. The concept of digital identity is defined as, “an online or networked identity adopted or claimed in cyberspace by an individual, organization, or electronic device.” This identity is long lasting (even considered permanent to some) and can greatly impact a person’s future in ways that may be unforeseen, particularly by young people.
