What do you think is the future of educational technology?? What would you like to see or be improved in the future to help you more in the classroom? Can you think of any new products apple might blow our minds with?? Here is an article you can read from Steve Jobs about technology and how it's changing and how he thinks about technology. Please respond to the previous questions about the future of technology.

I think educational technology is about to start growing even more exponentially than it already has been. Technology in the classroom is increasing at a very rapid rate. I would like to see a wider range of technologies used rather than just the typical laptops and SMART boards. I think eventually Apple is going to come up with something that will be virtual labs at its finest--like a hologram or something along those lines.

I am excited about all the new technology hitting our schools but also a bit overwhelmed. Finances are a very big obstacle and training of staff so that they can effectively instruct technology courses. It would be ideal to have computers for every class and every student. Ipads for everyone is a pipe dream I have as well.

I think the technology of the future will be integrated more and more into the classrooms and our everyday lives. Since technology is advancing at such a rapid pace, I think it will become requirements in our classrooms. My son's DSI game already can communicate with others when they are sitting close to eachother and they can interact within the game that they play. I have also seen the new phones that when you touch them to eachother they "read" or sync with eachother and allows collaboration between the two. I think this type of technology will become available in classrooms and allow for greater collaboration between students and teachers.

I think the future of educational technology is limitless. I believe their will always be new things coming out. Look how far we have come already. In 20 year kids propbably won't even know what a smart board in because there is some new thing we are using in the classroom. As for Apple..I think they will always be coming out with new products that are impresive. I just saw they came out with a mini iPad and I thought why? its the same as the original just smaller..but if it sells then I guess it's a success.

I wonder if online high schools will become more prevalent in the future. At some point, cost will limit the expansion of technology in the classroom. Schools can not afford to update technology everytime apple or anyone else comes out with some "must have" piece of technology to make a quick buck. How many ipods have there been and other than size, color, and screen, nothing has changed on how it functions, yet apple has sold millions to the masses that "must have" it because it is new technology.

I believe the possibilities to technology in the classroom are endless. As Steve Jobs stressed the key is to think different. We cannot continue to rely on traditional educational tools, and shun away change. There is a reason United States schools are no longer on top, it is because we have trouble embracing change, and implementing new teaching practices in our classrooms. The nice thing about technology is changes can be implemented more quickly. I would like to see more school implementing technology at least 50% of the time, and would like all students to be at least proficient in technology. For this to happen, not only to students need to further their technology capabilities, many teachers need to as well.

I believe that we are going to quickly slide into classrooms that used technology for everything. There are some schools that have all ready begun with having their textbooks on Ipads. I believe we will soon go to paperless tests, assignments, etc. Steve jobs made a lot of good point, the possibilities of what we can do are endless. In order for classroom technology to be successful we are going to have to have a lot more teacher training. That will vastly improve the use of technology.

I believe technology in education is going to become more than a mere tool for teaching and learning but a vital part of our curriculum. Standardized tests are going to be given using this technology and students are going to have to learn to use them adequately in order to perform well.

Educational technology is endless. Technology in the classroom since I have been in high school has grown tremendously. I can't imagine what we will have in 5-10 years. I believe that all tests will soon be moved to electronic usage.

I can't even imagine what kind of technology will be created in the next 10 years. I do think that classrooms will be moving to an all technology classroom using nothing but iPads, SMART boards and new technology developed for the newer generation of education.

I don't honestly know. I guess with me being a math teacher, I do not feel that I will be using as much technology as other teachers. But I could be wrong about that. I just find that I will be teaching more with marker board, pencil, and paper; and I think that makes me take a backseat to what technologies in the classroom are being used and what is new.
