This was an article I found that listed several ways that technology has enhanced education in classrooms. I am curious to here more ways this has been done. Please explain a way that technology has benefited you in school. If you can't think of one then think of way it has benefited your job, hobby, or anything else it had a positive effect on.

When I student taught special education in high school, the first few weeks I remember reading the same tests out loud to students every class period, and then having to repeat myself and go at different speeds according to their liking. I ended up finding a way to record myself reading the test just once on the computer, and allowing the students to take their tests while listening to myself on the computer, and they were able to pause, fast forward, rewind. It was very efficient!

I would have to agree with Brad. Video is a great tool! In athletic training we are required to video all of our evaluations and rehabilitation's to submit for review by our teachers. We also then use these as a great way for possible employers to see what we can do. In your resume all you do is put the website and password to view the videos, employers can watch and decide if they like what they see. Then possibly call for an interview. Its a great tool especially for places that are far away.

I think the coolest thing that I have experienced in my education is the enhanced technology that makes things more real, even in a simulated set-up. Being able to look up videos of injuries, and having computer programs that prepare you for what you will see on a board exam are just a couple of amazing things that technology has provided to enhance education.

Working and teaching radiology, technology has greatly enhanced my classroom teaching. I am able to show students videos of actual hospitals in action and actual positioning of students. I am able to allow my students to use a real radiology room and process the images on the computer. This is much cheaper in the long run than buying chemicals and keeping a manual processor for films. Technology has made teaching my students easier.

One way that technology has enhanced my education is that I believe videos are always helpful. being a biology major for my undergrad we would look a lot of videos on cells, animals, or whatever needed. In a lot of my courses we would listen to the sounds on video of certain animals this way we would know what they were when we were in nature. This to me was very beneficial and important due to we would have test over it.

I write lifting programs for a lot of athletes and have recently learned new ways to use excel to help me plug in percentages of maxes for each player, and to print out multiple workouts without having to change anything for each new workout sheet. Although excel has been around for quite sometime these new things I have learned will save me a lot of time in creating programs.

Having not had a classroom of my own yet for an extended period of time has not allowed me to use much technology yet and see what I like best. I know when I was student teaching I used powerpoint often, but I have used that for years now. One thing that technology did that made the class better was the use of simulations, which was mentioned in your website. I know that it is very hard to show certain scientific phenomena when you are teaching at a small school in the middle of nowhere. The online simulations are key in showing students how certain scientific processes actually work, and how scientists actually do their jobs in their given fields. Today it seems there is a simulation for almost any kind of process you can think of, and it is much more cost efficient to use the internet simulators than to actually do the experiments in the classroom.

This was a neat article and proved to be so true. I can remember struggling in school with math and science in particular. I learn by seeing things work. When the math and science started getting so advanced that it became a situation of just practicing it, I fell behind. These uses of technology people have developed will surely benefit many students!

I believe technology has made education better simply because student's do not have to take the word of the text book companies. They can research things on their own and learn more about stuff taught in the textbook. I have experienced technology in my professional career in the form of electronic medical records. Up to as late as last year some larger healthcare firms had not made the switch to electronic records. This has been great in regards to finding out past medical issues that are important to current treatment. having them in an electronic form doctors and clinical staff can pull them up at a moment's notice.

From an athletic training stand point technology has helped a lot from studying for the boards to doing online paperwork on injuries. As far as learning from technology there were a few classes in Hish School that were fun that dealt with technology that not many other students had access to. My digital video class had the most technology for us to use. The more hands on learning there was the better I learned.

As a teacher also of ESE students, I used many different types of technology in the classroom. Although I used many different methods I think the use of the smart board was crucial to their success. Special needs kids need to have hands on interaction. With the smart board I was able to bring the lesson plan to life and make it tangible to the students.

Technology has helped me a great deal in my hobby and my job. Fishing and hunting are two things that I love to do. By using technology, I can map out my stands, find where the property lines are, give exact points to where deer are bedding and moving, and trail cameras hanging up allow me to track movement. when I put all of this information into the computer, I can almost pinpoint the whereabouts of deer, and know the best place to hunt. For my job, I can track athletes through their season, find new athletes, and view videos of them participating in games.

I didn't do student teaching because my undergrad isn't a BSE, so I felt behind when I started teaching and when I started this class. But, one way technology has helped me professionally is a result of this class, and as weird as it may sound, it's from using Twitter. The PLN we had to create is one of the most beneficial things I've found so far regarding technology improving my job. I've been able to connect with so many other seasoned professionals and that will only help me grow.
