I'm not a teacher but I think I'm struggling in terms of using technology as a learning tool. I do just fine when I'm using it for my own personal needs but I struggle to find ways to use it on and off the track other than for watching instructional videos and research. I'm sure there are tons of other ways that it could help my program, I just haven't taken the time to really look into it.

I have implemented technology into my classroom and use a variety of ways to teach Geometry. I must say though that I still believe when it comes right down to it the student must pick up a pencil and work the problem out. The main problem with technolgy is our school system simply cannot handle most of the newer programs so it is lost time

I fully believe we are diving right into technology at the college level. I oversee the technical programs at SFCC. These classes are very hands on for the most part. However, several of the classes are becoming hybrid classes. We are finding the computer based knowledge is important in almost every field our students will eventually be working in.

I am not a teacher and don't plan on teaching; however, I plan to continue working in higher education and student affairs. Technology plays a huge role for students in college, and I think that staying on top of current technology is important, and this can be about social media, new educational technologies, or new phone technology. Students use all sorts of technology to maintain their educational career in college, and it's important to know what they use in order to help them use it effectively.

I am embracing the change, I make sure my students have time in the computer lab. However, our computer lab has been down for the last 3 weeks causing less time for practice, which is frustrating because we don't have that much longer till the test. I have been putting the Sbac practice questions on the SmartBoard and making my students work on them. This has been really effective, getting them used to the way it looks and what is expected of them. The questions are ridiculous.

I think all educators need to embrace the changes that the educational system and society are going through related to technology. Our educational system isn't perfect so some minor changes can do nothing but help. Using technology in the classroom allows for differentiated instruction, and gives kids a break from lectures. If a child is curious about a question they have the power to look up the information in the palm of their hand, this on-demand option was never available until recently. Through proper instruction and monitoring technology can be an invaluable resource, instead of a distraction in class. Unless teachers embrace these changes, their students and themselves will be left behind.

I feel that I myself struggle with not only technology but the many uses one can have for it. I am 23 and I can barely even keep track of the newest apps for Ipads and Iphones. I do feel that we need to integrate more technology into education though. More and more jobs are requiring workers to be capable with various forms of technology.

Since I am not a traditional teacher, I don't feel as if I am struggling but when I look at some teachers, they do seem to take the "My way or the highway" approach and I think its mainly because they are struggling with the transition. Some seem to take it very well while it seems as if others are not. For example, I know some teachers that refuse to use the smart boards just because its a new form of technology and they always say, "Im not using it because i will not spoil these students. We already live in a microwave society and they want everything to just be handed to them." I think she is struggling to embrace the tech wave in the classroom. Not all are like that but some would rather teach the way they were taught.

I agree that children need to be engaged in the classroom. With the amount of technology children are exposed to with their iPads, cell phones, computers, and much more children need to have the same stimulation in schools. The world is changing and we have to change with it. As well as engaging students in their schoolwork, using more technology in the classroom will help prepare students for the workforce when they graduate high school and college. My school is getting more technology each year. We are finally getting whiteboards in our classrooms this year and training on using Google Docs and more. At times I feel a bit overwhelmed, but I am up to the challenge!

I am definitely using the technology more and more because of the changing world I think that for our students to be successful when they get out in the real world they are going to need a good basis in technology.

As a coach, I am struggling to incorporate more technology into my athletes lives. Something I have learned from this class that I could be doing includes: using a google as a tool for many things such as the calendar, having the girls research something and bring it to practice, and sharing film in a new way.

The average teacher is having some trouble using the technology into the classroom like we all should. I don't use it a lot in my class but I would like to incorporate it into my everyday lesson more. It does make like easier in some ways but it can be hard in other ways.
