With Technology growing and the use of tablets, laptops, and cellphones growing larger and larger. People use apps (applications) all the time, either for personal enjoyment or for work. I have used some applications for coaching such as Hudl, Coaches Eye, and Front Rush. What are some apps that can be used as educators that will enhance your ability to educate your student (athletes)? Post some applications that you use in your profession, list some positives and negatives that are associated with the application. Also discuss if there are any applications that you would like to use. Or some changes to an application you currently use that would make educating easier for you and your students. Also discuss if there are any apps that you used as a student or as an athlete that really helped you develop in your craft.

I would like to post about using Skype in the classroom. Here is the article and video I found.
http://www.teachhub.com/using-skype-classroom While technology can be helpful in general education classrooms, it can make a huge impact on children with disabilities. My career path is a little different than most getting their Masters in Education. I am hoping to work closely with parents and their children diagnosed with Autism. This video discusses the impact that has been seen when children with autism utilize iPads.
http://www.cbsnews.com/videos/ipads-may-help-kids-with-autism-communicate/ If you had a child with autism in your classroom, how would you utilize the technology that you had available? http://www.educationworld.com/a_tech/tech/tech213.shtml
We see all of these success stories about how schools have used technology in the classroom but we do not see any stories of how the school went about of getting the technology into the classroom. I have found an article that explains the massive hurdles that need to be taken in order for school to get the technology into the classroom and the preparation it takes. While growing up in the Los Angeles School I had a hard time learning the traditional ways that teachers taught and it seemed that if students couldn't learn the way that the teachers were teaching, they would be left out. I believe that the way technology is being used in schools today , students will be presented to different ways of learning instead of one-way fits all. This video that I found on YouTube goes us 10 reasons to why we should use technology in schools. Pick one and tell us how you think it would have benefited you if you were still in high school.

"Embracing the Digital Brain"......technology is changing the way we teach, think and learn. Are you embracing the change or struggling? I am embracing the change and trying to use technology to increase engagement in my classroom. http://chronicle.com/article/What-You-Need-to-Know-About/149005/http://chronicle.com/article/What-You-Need-to-Know-About/149005/
Yik Yak is an app that is causing a lot of controversy on college campuses and in high schools. How should schools respond to this type of anonymous application? As a coach or an educator, how do you ensure that your students are aware of their Digital Footprint?
What are some of the methods you've used to remind or teach them about Digital footprints? http://www.educatorstechnology.com/2013/04/a-great-guide-on-teaching-students.html Flipped Classrooms seem to be becoming more popular in junior high and high school. With students having more access to technology, the flipped classroom allows students to view content of the class outside the classroom via online video’s, tutorials, or other methods. The in-class time is spent on working on the homework associated with the content, problem solving, and working on projects. Research states that students are more engaged and there is more academic success with this method as compared to the older traditional classroom approach.

Also, do you think this method of teaching could be used in the middle school setting or possibly the elementary setting? http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/american-graduate-july-dec13-flipped_12-11/ With most elementary schools in bigger cities using the Ipad Program. How do you see the use of Ipad in the classroom as a positive and as a negative?
