The two discussion topics I found the most interesting and learned the most from were BYOD and Tech Ed in Kenya. The topic about bring your own device was very interesting because it is always an issue of whether you allow personal technology to be turned on during class time. It helped me realize you could possibly open a specific time during class when it was acceptable and create a different learning opporutnity during that set time. Iliked the Tech Ed in Kenya discussion because I had no idea this was going on and if something like this is being created and marketed in economically challenged countries, I believe improved versions will be available in economically challenged areas within the U.S. in the near future. It will probably receive grant funding to improve educational opportunities for underprivileged children here in the United States just as it is improving education opportunities outside the U.S.

I enjoyed the article about education in Kenya as well. I think we often take for granted what we have here in the US! We are very fortunate to have the opportunities we do. Sometimes we don't stop to think about how little some countries have and the lack of opportunities offered to them. I agree that a system, such as the one being used in Kenya, can be expanded upon and eventually the programs could be offered in many other areas that lack proper education for children!

I think the most useful assignment we had in this class for me was the class website. This assignment helped me realize how organized having a class website can make a class. Instead of searching through file cabinets and other out-dated materials, a website can provide a space to inform students about assignments. It also can house multiple assignments. We even learned ways of conducting assignments for our students on the websites. Another thing that I liked about it was that it was fairly easy to make. I had a couple of times where it was a little hard but overall it was fairly easy. I plan on expanding the website I made in this class and using it for the classes I teach currently.

I did not know how easy it was to develop a website for your class/program. I learned a lot by doing this assignment but will probably not use it in the future because each of our courses is supported by a Learning Management System (LMS) course shell and we are expected to use this course shell for online and onground courses. It is enough to keep up with one course shell.

I liked the process in creating a website for this class as well. I feel that I received some very beneficial knowledge and resources from having to create the website. I feel that it could be very useful for me in where ever my career choice takes me. I hope that I can use this in the near future.

I agree the website was very helpful and makes it easy to organize your class without having so much paperwork that is not needed.

I agree that this assignment was very helpful! This was an assignment I could see myself using in the future and by using links and information that I used frequently, I gave myself a chance to review old information and brush up!

I agree that the website was the best assignment because it can be the most useful when trying to improve on using technology. It allows for teachers to communicate with students and post information for them to access even when they are not in school.

I think the project that was most beneficial to me was one of the more recent ones. Where we created a lesson plan for our classes they we created. I liked that one because I do not have a background in teaching so it showed me what all really goes into creating a lesson. It made me kind of appreciate some of the teachers that I had in the past with all of the work that they put in to make lessons for us, because I had some teachers that really took their time and had some really good lessons and activities for us.

I agree - creating a lesson plan really made me appreciate the teachers I had that took the time to plan class sessions in a way that would be most beneficial to us as students. I couldn't imagine mapping out an entire year of good lesson plans.

I think the student post benefited me the most. I wanted my post to be about a topic that would elicit thoughtful responses from the class and that goal led me to a number of different articles. Each of these articles presented some interesting ideas, and while I only selected one, I gained some useful knowledge during the process.

I really enjoyed the student blogs as well. Almost all of them brought up points that I had never really thought about before. I think each of us were excited that we got to create an assignment for the class. The ownership role that was created by this helped me to be motivated to do my best on it. I am going to try and let my students create some parts of an assignment in the classes I teach because now I know this is a great thing.

I agree. I enjoyed reading the thoughts on my own post as well. It was interesting to see what people thought about the subject that I was most interested in. The student blogs let everyone have some input into the class and I liked that.

I think two of the assignments useful. Your digital footprint and making out webpage. I didn't know how many students where not aware of their digital footprint online and how it can affect them later in life. I think this is an important topic to discuss with students so they know that what they are doing when they are in high school will be with them when they are 25 looking for a job. And I had no idea how easy it was to create and make a web page. I always assumed it was a long task that I would never have time to make or keep up. But I found it to be very easy make and maintain.

Many of the assignments in this class were surprisingly beneficial! I found myself enjoying many of the blog posts, as they made me think outside the box and examine information I did not think I would have to apply in my career. I, like most other students it seems, enjoyed making the webpage the most. This is a webpage and information I should be able to use in future classes and for future athletic training students to give them a place to find some basic rehabilitation information and resources. Putting these links and the site together also gave me the chance to review this information and learn some new things myself!

I think I liked the post that discussed BYOD as the most useful. I enjoyed reading everyone's ideas on the subject. Overall the class blogs were good for information and seeing different opinions. I really enjoyed those the most out of this class. I plan to use other people's opinions and ideas and see if I can work them into my career path.

The BYOD was very beneficial for me as well. I truly believe that when you listen to others and stay open to ideas that can improve upon your own. I liked seeing what other had to say about my own ideas.

I think the most beneficial was the webpage. I've always stayed away from creating a page because I wasn't sure how to do it. Once I got started, I realized it wasn't as difficult as I thought it would.

I found the building the website to be the most useful because that is something that I could use a lot latter in my teaching career. It allows for me to be able to stay in contact with my students even if they are sick or on a trip. Also it is a way to deliver them all of their assignments without having to deal with all of the paperwork. having the ability to set up my own website and knowing how to build it the way that I need it .

I think the two assignments that were the most useful to me were creating your own website and the digital footprint. Both of these were new to me because I have never created one before. Now if I ever have to I know how and where to go to to create one.

I learned the most from discussing what a PLN is and what makes up my PLN? I had not heard the terminology before (PLN) and to look at my own and what uses I had for the different technologies that I use every day and take advantage of.
